ABOUT HACKING HEALTH NORTH WEST
The Hacking Health North West UK team was set up by Chanua in 2016, with the aim to bring Hacking Health’s ethos of grass roots healthcare innovation to the growing community of likeminded health and social care innovators. We believe that creativity and innovation lie at the intersection of skills, expertise and experience and at Hacking Health we aim to create these intersections.

WHAT WE DO
- Bring the tech community, together with clinicians, patient and service users, researchers and entrepreneurs to develop solutions to real-world health care challenges.
- Running annual themed Hackathon
- Running commissioned hackathons and design jams with Corporate, SME and Charitable organisations.
The 2-day events see teams of mixed skills, experience and expertise, form and rapidly develop prototypes to solve identified healthcare challenges.

Calm Futures is a team who’s youngest group member is 13. They developed Reli a winning solution to support young people to safely self-harm incorporating sensors in a wearable device. They have later received funding and been successful in attending the School for Social Entrepreneurs start up course.
Lorna lead a team that developed an app specifically designed to support the children of prisoners, this later became MyTime. Following the 2017 Hacking Health Hackathon, My Time went on to receive investment of £25,000 for their innovation.
